What is CASA?

Court Appointed Special Advocates® (CASAs) are community volunteers, just like you, who speak up for abused and/or neglected children.

Our CASA program belongs to a network of nearly 950 community-based programs that recruit, train and support citizen-volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and/or neglected children in courtrooms and communities.

News & Notes

Northern Nevada Pride

The third annual @Northern Nevada Pride Festival and Community Parade while hot, hot, hot, was a wonderful chance for the Washoe CASA Foundation to connect with our community and spread the word about our need for Court Appointed Special Advocates.  Jo Anne Gonzalez, Ruby Burnley and Jodie Black, along with our former intern, Sven Peterson, staffed our CASA booth.  We were proud to be a part of the parade and festival all day at Wingfield Park in Reno on July 22, 2023.  Thanks https://northernnevadapride.org/ for hosting us!
