What is CASA?

Court Appointed Special Advocates® (CASAs) are community volunteers, just like you, who speak up for abused and/or neglected children.

Our CASA program belongs to a network of nearly 950 community-based programs that recruit, train and support citizen-volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and/or neglected children in courtrooms and communities.

Circus Bella at Artown

A big crowd for Circus Bella Reno 2022!

Saturday evening and Sunday morning of the 4th of July holiday weekend found CASA Board Members, Jo Anne Gonzalez, Harris Armstrong, Tiffanie Story and Jodie Black manning a booth at Circus Bella, the traditional and opening event of Artown 2022.  Idlewild Park in Reno was the setting for jugglers, clowns, contortionists and more performing with the live Circus Bella Band.  The Washoe CASA Foundation gave away 250 balsa wood airplanes to children and chatted to grown ups about CASA Volunteerism.  The weather was perfect and the children were excited to kick off the Artown month of July.  Thank you to Artown organizer, Rose Brownlow for inviting us!
