What is CASA?

Court Appointed Special Advocates® (CASAs) are community volunteers, just like you, who speak up for abused and/or neglected children.

Our CASA program belongs to a network of nearly 950 community-based programs that recruit, train and support citizen-volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and/or neglected children in courtrooms and communities.

Learning and Connecting in Seattle - 2022 National CASA/GAL Annual Conference: Leading the Way to Brighter Futures

Annual Conference in Seattle

This year, we invite you to join us for our Annual Conference in Seattle during our 40th anniversary year. This conference will bring our vibrant network together – for the first time since 2019 – for in-depth learning, networking opportunities and collaborative discussions about the issues that impact our work and our future.

Workshop themes for this year’s conference are targeted at celebrating 40 years of best-interest advocacy and improving the opportunities and outcomes for the children and families served by CASA/GAL volunteers. With a focus on the importance of families – and a thematic undercurrent of diversity, equity and inclusion – experts from around the nation will come together to strengthen our network’s ability to build their resilience to improve the lives of their children. As the National CASA/GAL Association for Children celebrates its 40th anniversary, we will also launch the strategic plan for moving the network into the future, so we can better serve all the children and families who need us.
