What is CASA?

Court Appointed Special Advocates® (CASAs) are community volunteers, just like you, who speak up for abused and/or neglected children.

Our CASA program belongs to a network of nearly 950 community-based programs that recruit, train and support citizen-volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and/or neglected children in courtrooms and communities.

CASAs prepare for Christmas Giving!

Our Annual Gift Pick Up

CASAs came and went from the Court Street office in Reno, for the annual "Gift Pick Up" day.  Our Volunteer force stops by to choose from a variety of gifts to give to their CASA kiddos.  The Kappa Alpha Theta's had made several special gifts for kids on their "Day of Service."  Charitable groups in town made quilts and wooden toys.  Barnes and Noble donated boxes of books for all ages.  The Washoe CASA Foundation Board, in an effort to express our profound gratitude to our Volunteers, provided a "swag bag."  Volunteers received gift cards for area stores, restaurants and theaters.  Nevada Kids Foundation was instrumental in providing funding for these gifts.  The Washoe CASA Foundation is proud to assist our Volunteers in their Christmas gift giving for their CASA kids.  Happy Holidays everyone!
