What is CASA?

Court Appointed Special Advocates® (CASAs) are community volunteers, just like you, who speak up for abused and/or neglected children.

Our CASA program belongs to a network of nearly 950 community-based programs that recruit, train and support citizen-volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and/or neglected children in courtrooms and communities.

Aces Baseball and Volunteer Appreciation Collide!

Washoe CASA Foundation thanks its Volunteer Team!

The smoke cleared, the weather was perfectly clear and beautiful for the Reno Aces vs Sacramento River Cats game at the Greater Nevada Field on Sunday September 19, 2022.  Board Member, Tiffanie Story and three of her vocal students sang the National Anthem in harmony to the late summer crowd.  The Washoe CASA Foundation invited all of our treasured CASA Volunteers and families, our Kappa Alpha Theta sorority partners and alumnae to join us at the baseball game for our fall appreciation event.  About 100 volunteers, family members and Thetas filled our section seats for a great game, $1 hot dogs, blue skies and fireworks! And while our team did not triumph, we thank the Aces Baseball organization and Greater Nevada Credit Union for allowing us to thank our great volunteer team and spread the message of CASA to our Truckee Meadows community.  Thanks to Heather Elliott, volunteer and Tiffanie Story and Colton Loretz, Board members for their help at our booth.  See you next year!
